The Mestrado Degree provides students with a solid training, in an interdisciplinary perspective in Communication Sciences, in the areas of Journalism and Strategic Communication. It allows various research options in each area, with the following priority thematic areas: strategic communication (organizational and societal level); communication and citizenship; crisis communication; communication and health; communication and tourism; public and political communication; diplomacy and communication; ethics and deontology in communication; media studies (in the applied context of journalism and strategic communication); journalism and society; literary journalism; and media representations of vulnerable audiences.
Deepen the knowledge of the field of Communication Sciences, observing criteria of high rigor, with connection to the organizational world (business, public and third sector);
To highlight the academic, political, economic and social importance of the knowledge and practice of communication in today's societies, marked by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity;
Orienting towards specialization experiences in both areas, with a view to Mestrado Degreeing the theoretical-conceptual and practical tools necessary for the high levels of demand in the professional exercise of communication;
Strengthen research skills with advanced theoretical, analytical, critical and methodological contributions, preparing for advanced studies (Doutoramento Degree).
