ISCSP is the oldest School in Portugal in the scientific area of Political Science. The MA in Political Science was created in 1982, seeking to respond to the emergence of the study of these subjects in the country, in the post-April Revolution period. Over these more than 40 years, the Mestrado Degree has tried to keep up with the evolution and scientific and pedagogical advances in the discipline at a national and international level.
The current curriculum includes a set of curricular units that cover the areas of comparative politics, political theory, and public policy, giving primacy to political actors, processes, and institutions. Particular emphasis is given to epistemological and methodological issues, central axes for the production of scientific knowledge.
