Landscape Architecture has as fundamental object the Landscape, the study and understanding of natural and cultural systems that integrate it and the processes associated to them, presupposing to order, create and build the space in relation to man. Landscape Architecture is an art and a science of great specificity which implies an interdisciplinary approach highlighting the areas of knowledge of humanities, social and ecological sciences, applied natural sciences, in particular the biological and geological sciences, technologies, along with the artistic and architectural components associated with the conception of the project, at different levels.
The Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (1st cycle) ensures a diversified basic training, aiming a preparation that can underpin the formation of landscape architects, ensuring the conditions for the acquisition of knowledge, methodologies and functional assumptions, integrated at project level, which allow joining a 2nd training cycle.
