The Master in Textual Criticism focuses on the study of the modes of production, transmission and preservation of utterances, mainly written but also others, verbal or non-verbal. Applying adequate theoretical and methodological knowledge, it allows the analysis and proposal of means to make such statements accessible, which can be different types of erudite edition, electronic edition, revision of the original for common editions, transposition of editions to specialized corpora, organic inventories of documents , codicological or manuscriptological descriptions, among others.
Provide students with the necessary skills to study the modes of production, transmission and preservation of statements, especially written, but also others, verbal or non-verbal. These skills translate into knowledge of the methodologies specific to the discipline of Textual Criticism and the reflective discourse with which it assures and renews its theoretical foundations, and enables them to work in the broad field of practical applications of the discipline.
