The PhD in Translation Studies welcomes students from all over the world that command the Portuguese language, oral and written, hold an MA and are interested in becoming qualified professionals in both Translation Studies and in the fields of intercultural and interlinguistic communication. As the Programme has the collaboration of researchers with a wide range of interests, it welcomes projects from diversified areas of Translation Studies. Preference will be given to candidates that hold an MA in Humanities and Social Sciences and that are fluent in two foreign languages. However, students from other disciplinary areas may be admitted as long as they fulfil the basic requirements. A previous BA or MA degree is not mandatory, however, it is highly recommended.
