The PhD in PORTUGUESE AND ROMANCE STUDIES is a 3rd cycle in literary and cultural studies. It is intended for the preparation of researchers, as well as senior staff and leaders with cultural, administrative and academic functions, capable of analyzing, in a critical and reflexive manner, questions related to cultural and artistic fields of Portuguese or other Romance languages speaking world.
Between the purposes of this PhD, the acquisition of skills to solve complex problems concerning its study field, and to promote innovation within a framework of intellectual rigor may stand out. Promoting the communication of the results obtained at national and international level is also a relevant objective.
Although it focuses mainly on research and higher education, this cycle is also suitable for professional activities such as consultancy, cultural programming and production.
