Biographical Note 

Holder of a degree and a doctorate in Landscape Architecture at Technical University of Lisbon’s School of Agriculture.

Assistant Professor in the School of Agriculture’s Department of Natural Resources, Environment and Territory (DRAT/ISA/ULisboa). Professor in the scientific area of Landscape Architecture, coordinating the following course units: Vegetation Applied to Landscape Architecture Project, Vegetation in Urban Spaces and Computer Assisted Design. Since 2009 integrate the Landscape Architecture and Urban Ecology doctorate program as professor at this doctoral program link between Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto Universities.

Has held the following academic management posts: member of the School’s Scientific Council since 2022; from 2017 to 2022 coordinator of the Master Course in Landscape Architecture; from 2018 to 2022 member of the Educational Council; from 2014 to 2018 member of the Scientific Council; from 2009 to 2014 Vice-President of the Management Council, in charge of physical assets (buildings and gardens).

Since 1998, researcher at the Centre for Applied Ecology "Prof. Baeta Neves" (CEABN) is a research centre within the School of Agriculture, University of Lisbon. Presently CEABN integrates the Associated Laboratory InBIO: Biodiversity and Evolutive Biology Research Network, in partnership with CIBIO, a research centre from the University of Porto. Currently coordinator of the Ecological Design and Landscape Architecture research at CEABN.

In 2003 was co-founder, together with Cristina Castel-Branco, Teresa Chambel and Iole Sala, of the Associação Portuguesa de Jardins Históricos. A non-profit cultural association that aims to contribute to the study, defense, preservation and dissemination of historic gardens.

In 2016, as Landscape Architecture curator, sat on the management committee of the Lisbon University’s Lisbon Botanical Garden and Tropical Botanical Garden. Since 2019 held the post of coordinator at Lisbon University’s School of Agriculture’s Botanical Garden of Ajuda (Lisbon).
